How to run Ultimate boot cd on Switchvox to test hard drives and memoryWhile the steps to test memory on the Switchvox 450 and 470 are the same, the steps to check the HDDs are different. Follow the below steps in order to verify the integrity of the drives:
Note: Before running UBCD on the 450 or 470 you will first need to bypass the RAID card. In order to do this you will need to disconnect the RAID card from the RAID backplane and use a standard SATA connector to connect the drive directly to the motherboard.
- Once the USB drive is in the first boot order, insert UBCD into the drive. Reboot the PBX and after a few minutes it should take you directly into the UBCD menu. Using the connected USB keyboard use the arrow keys to go to Parted Magic 2013_08_01_i586
- The monitor will display a menu, hit Enter
- Double-click Disk Health and you should see the drive displayed, double-click the drive
- If something is fatally wrong with the drive, one of the tabs at the top of the window will be highlighted red. If not, click Perform Tests
- On Test Type select Extended Self-Test
- Click Execute
- Once the test completes take not of any errors in order to report to Digium Technical Support
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen and select Restart
